Chelsea Younkman
Fine Artist/Instructor/Commission Artist
Chelsea Younkman is a master professional artist located in Toledo Ohio. Chelsea is currently a part time instructor for Adrian College, Owens Community College and the University of Toledo. At these schools she primarily teaches fundamental and figure drawing courses to young adults. She also teaches portrait drawing workshops at The Art Supply Depot, a local art supply store in Bowling Green Ohio and downtown Toledo. Younkman has received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Major-Painting/Minor-Drawing) and Bachelor of Education (Concentration in the Visual Arts) from the University of Toledo and her Master of Fine Arts in 2-Dimensional Studies, with a Specialization in Drawing from Bowling Green State University.
Younkman has been extremely active within the art community amongst the region. She has received great notoriety in the Grand Rapids MI community for her Master Thesis drawing series entitled Job Fair. She sold the eight drawing series to a well-established company based in Grand Rapids, MI known as CWD Real Estate. During the same time she was invited by the curator of the GRAM (Grand Rapids Art Museum) to have one of her drawings from the series be displayed in the museum for one full year. The following year she was commissioned to do a drawing of an architect and his wife for another well-established company in Grand Rapids MI known as Visbeen Architects Inc. In the Toledo area she has sold several drawings along with completing her own personal work within her studio located in downtown Toledo. Chelsea is a dedicated educator and draftswoman with a contagious love for art.
